(Recent movie means LOTS of spoilers)
Opening scene... dolls and tea parties, frankly do not want the dolls but I'm fine with the tea. It isn't exactly revealed until later in the movie about why they jumped out the window, first thought told me it was because they were sad and depressed and so they all committed suicide.
Even though I was prepared for the worst in the beginning, the actual scary parts didn't come around until Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) arrived at the house. And now we scoot over to the means of scaring, SERIOUSLY? JUMPSCARES? That's low... even for a film and directing company, that's just low...
Anyway, to continue on this quick moving review, Daniel actually handled the role quite well considering that this was his first actual film out of the Harry Potter series. Speaking of characters and endings, that was quite the twist to have it end the way it did, I guess that legend will continue to live in that regard.
So, overall I give it a 4/5 -1 for low jumpscares (SERIOUSLY) but +1 for the realism of the movie. Leaving it a neutral stance.
