That is all... so the movie overall was okay, I do have to give props to it for interesting me into learning about Chernobyl. 5/10, +1 for enthusiastic learning, settling at a decent 6/10.
Ah Chernobyl, 1 test that led to death and a shit-load of radiation (Around 30,000 Roentgens per hour). And then something else that led to rumours and then to a movie. When I first initially saw the trailer I thought some twits actually localized a false conspiracy advertisement to be aired on Youtube, upon watching it I was intrigued. Anyway, aside from the trailer, the movie had an odd starting or the pre-movie trailers were ironically placed so the beginning looked like another trailer. Continuing towards the actual movie, the plot device of "don't get too close or radiation is going to fuck you up" was rather clever but the actual time they were barely close to the major source of radiation, Chernobyl itself. Speaking of which, I don't see a point in really calling it "Chernobyl Diaries" seeing as barely even 25% of the movie was spent actually inside Chernobyl. I mean sure the ending and all the patients were possibly undead radiation zombies, but that still doesn't give it enough excuse, the only time they were actually in Chernobyl is when they were chased out of the underground tunnels and up a ladder right into the halls of the plant but that lasted only 5 minutes until Paul suffered from extreme exposure and Amanda was shoved in with other patients and probably radiation raped. And for my final addition to the review, SHAAAKEY CAMERAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
